In this months issue of Allure magazine, I am included in a style section, that has industry girls put their take on a single piece of the season. This round was a Marc Jacobs peplum top. I matched it with a feathered fascinator from FW 11 and nude Louboutins. I also share some of my favorite beauty musts!
Mourning- Early Morning Veil
“Lace veiled hats by Gigi Burris Millinery – good for funerals and/or a night on the town”
A snapshot taken from NAAG of the Imitation of Christ show collaboration. Well pinned description because we most often dress for our nights out as if we were in mourning.

StyleCaster’s Most Stylish New Yorkers
I was so flattered to be included in StyleCaster’s picks for the 50 most stylish New Yorkers! Below are a few of the questions and answers in which I gush over pizza and lingerie.
Gigi Burris, Milliner
Care to share a couple of your favorite New York shopping spots?
I love Barneys. I love Obscura Antiques. It’s not necessarily apparel, but they have amazing things in there for the home. It’s in the East Village. They have these creepy, kind of Macabre antiques that I love. If Boutique in Soho. The Enchantment store in the East Village is really cool for herbs and things—it’s like a witch store, but it’s super cool. Lastly, Coco de Mer. It’s the lingerie shop in Nolita. Oh my God! They have the most amazing bondage and lingerie. I use their handcuffs—their leather handcuffs—as bracelets. They’re kind of racy, but they have beautiful delicate things too.
Is there a decade of New York fashion that really inspires your style?
Yeah, I’m really drawn to the late 18th Century and the 1920’s, I guess I’ve pinned it, in terms of design. It’s just kind of a darker time of dressing. It’s really loose, like flapper style. And I love, you know, when Chanel was just starting out and that kind of loose look. I guess I translate that into my design. Right now, I’m kind of feeling the ’70s for personal dress.
What are your favorite spots to hangout in New York if you have a night free?
You can find me at the Holiday Cocktail Lounge. It’s a bar underneath my house, and it’s a total dive but everybody knows each other. I’m always there with my best friends and they live in the neighborhood. I also love Rubirosa! Their vodka pizza is so good. I always say to myself, “I shouldn’t finish this pizza,” but I can’t stop! And my friends and I always meet up at the Jane.
